In September 2026, Mambu launched its Intelligent Core architecture, combining its core banking, payments, and AI software on a single platform. The rollout includes a new product, Mambu Agentic, linked with Mambu Core and Mambu Payments. This launch is intended to give financial institutions a way to connect AI agents directly to banking ledgers and payments systems.

The architecture is designed to let AI agents work with real-time banking data, operate within predefined guardrails, and take authorized actions. The company also said that the approach is intended to help banks and other financial firms automate routine operational tasks and speed up decision-making.

The launch introduces three elements within the agentic layer. The first is Model Context Protocol, or MCP, which is designed to connect enterprise AI agents to core banking and payments systems without extensive integration work. The second is AI Insights, which the company described as a curated data layer that is intended to ensure the information used by AI systems is trustworthy. It also aims to identify growth opportunities, risks and anomalies across portfolios and operations. The third is a set of agents that are able to gather data, assess it against configurable guardrails, act where permitted, and explain decisions and actions. These workflows are auditable and can be configured around internal policies, approval thresholds, and business rules.

Mambu has built its business around what it calls composable banking, an approach that allows financial institutions to assemble separate technology components rather than rely on a single monolithic core platform. According to the company, the new architecture extends that model by embedding AI tools more deeply into the operating layer of banking systems.

Impact on the AI Market

Many banks are still trying to add AI services on top of older systems that were not designed for real-time intelligence or autonomous action. By connecting AI to both the ledger and payments layer, the company is seeking to position its platform as a way to embed automation into day-to-day banking processes rather than limit AI to customer-facing tools or standalone analytics. Intelligent Core will help financial institutions to launch faster, automate high-volume operational work, and deliver instant, personalized services by bringing together the intelligence and the ledger in one open architecture. The result is intelligence that compounds across the stack, becoming more valuable as the business grows.

Combined with Mambu Core and Mambu Payments, the technology forms the very foundation of Intelligent Core, which the company says can help institutions improve execution speed, reduce operational costs, and support hyper-personalized financial services. Intelligent Core also brings together the intelligence and the ledger in one open architecture, thus helping financial institutions launch faster, automate high-volume operational work, and deliver instant, personalized services at a much larger scale.

Impact on the Generative AI In Banking and Finance Market

The global generative AI in banking and finance market size is calculated at USD 1,676.02 million in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 2,229.10 million in 2026 to approximately USD 26,343.82 million by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 31.72% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the banking and financial services sector has serious concerns about fraud detection and prevention. For institutions looking to secure their systems and defend their consumers, the continuously changing nature of fraudulent operations presents major obstacles. The advanced methods that fraudsters use frequently make it difficult for traditional rule-based systems and static fraud detection models to keep up. The vast amounts of financial transactions and data created also make it challenging to manually spot fraudulent tendencies quickly. To improve fraud detection and prevention skills, it is necessary to examine cutting-edge technologies like generative AI.

The uses of generative AI in banking and finance are many and include several important domains. A key component of financial operations is risk assessment, which may be improved by creating artificial data that simulates prospective threats. Institutions are now better able to assess risks and reduce them. By using massive datasets of fraudulent and non-fraudulent transactions to train models, generative AI can help fraud detection systems.

Impact on the Software As A Service (SaaS) Market

The global software as a service (SaaS) market size was estimated at USD 408.21 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 465.03 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 1,367.68 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 12.85% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the increasing adoption of public cloud services in various enterprises is one of the significant factors that is expected to drive the software as a service (SaaS) market growth during the study period. Considering the high cost of on-premises software deployment, many enterprises are shifting towards the SaaS model. As businesses aim to decrease their IT costs and enhance scalability, the adoption of Customer relationship management (CRM) SaaS solutions continues to increase. Configuration and customization of CRM SaaS solutions are becoming more accessible and easier. This allows companies to personalize their CRM systems according to their particular requirements.

AI is also profoundly impacting the SaaS industry by enabling a fundamental shift from generic functionality to personalized, intelligent services. Machine learning algorithms are also being integrated into SaaS platforms in order to automate complex tasks, analyze vast datasets for actionable insights, and provide predictive analytics that anticipate user needs and market trends. This enhances the overall user experience and operational efficiency, thus allowing businesses to optimize decision-making with data-driven recommendations.
