In July 2026, Navi Medical Technologies successfully secured A$6.8 million in funding to expedite the U.S. commercialization of its Neonav® vascular access technology. This investment positions the Australia-founded medical technology company for expansion, following key clearances from the FDA and the initiation of clinical evaluations at prominent children's hospitals in the United States.

The Melbourne and Boston based developer of medical devices intends to utilize the funds to increase manufacturing capacity, establish its U.S. commercial organization, and facilitate the rollout of Neonav® across pediatric healthcare systems. Commercial sales are anticipated to commence later this year, thus marking the company’s transition from clinical validation to revenue generation within the world’s largest medical device market.

The financing round was led by the healthcare venture capital firm KP Rx, which contributed A$4 million. Existing investor Innovation Victoria participated, along with new investor Pacific Channel, a venture capital firm with operations in New Zealand and Melbourne.

This capital raise follows a series of regulatory and commercial milestones that have reinforced Navi’s market position. In 2025, the company received FDA 510(k) clearance for Neonav®, facilitating entry into the U.S. market. Clinical evaluations are currently underway at two leading children's hospitals in the U.S., representing a significant step toward broader adoption.

Navi further enhanced the technology's commercial prospects in 2026 when the FDA granted an expanded indication for use, which now includes additional vascular access procedures involving umbilical venous catheters. With this updated clearance, Neonav® possesses the broadest FDA-cleared indications for pediatric and neonatal vascular access, encompassing all central venous access devices and procedures.

Impact on the Medical Devices Industry

The global medical devices market size is valued at USD 678.88 billion in 2025 and is projected to increase from USD 719.61 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 1,209.42 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 5.94% from 2026 to 2035.

According to precedence research, rising demand for diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring devices for patients requiring intensive care helps to boost the market. The market is expanding as a result of rising healthcare awareness, growing demand for low-cost medical technologies, and the swift digital health adoption.

The company’s technology addresses one of the most complex procedures in neonatal and pediatric intensive care: the placement and ongoing management of central venous access devices used to deliver medications, fluids and nutrition. Neonav® combines real-time intravascular ECG guidance during catheter placement with continuous catheter migration surveillance, allowing clinicians to reassess catheter position throughout treatment. The capability extends beyond conventional ECG tip location systems and is intended to improve patient safety while reducing the need for repeat imaging.

Impact on the Pediatric Healthcare Industry

The global pediatric healthcare market size accounted for USD 14.55 billion in 2024 and is expected to grow from USD 15.77 billion in 2025 to approximately USD 32.48 billion by 2034, expanding at a CAGR of 6.52% from 2025 to 2035.

According to precedence research, rising focus on the health of children, the increasing prevalence of chronic childhood conditions such as asthma, obesity, diabetes and other chronic diseases, and the expansion of pediatric and neonatal intensive care services. Advancements in technology, for example, pediatric imaging, telehealth, and drug formulations designed for children, are also contributing to changing treatment outcomes. This funding is positively impacting the pediatric healthcare industry.

Chief Executive Officer Alex Newton said the financing marks an important milestone as the company shifts its focus from product development and regulatory approval to commercial execution. He said neonatal and pediatric clinicians have long relied on technologies developed for adult patients, and that Neonav® was specifically engineered to meet the needs of the smallest and most vulnerable patients. The new funding, he added, will support manufacturing expansion, growth of the U.S. commercial team and partnerships with leading children’s hospitals.

Investors cited both the clinical need and the company’s execution as key drivers behind the financing. KP Rx Partner Hashan De Silva said Navi has developed a differentiated technology addressing a significant unmet need while successfully advancing through product development, regulatory clearance and early clinical adoption.
