NVIDIA’s CEO Jensung Huang has been describing the idea of Artificial Intelligence supremacy since 2023 with the famous title “Sovereign AI”.

By understanding its potential benefits, Europe is now taking steps to follow the pitch presented by Mr. Huang. This concept elaborates that the knowledge, language, history and culture are totally different with each passing region of the nation. Thus, every nation should develop its own set of data accordingly to build its own AI Model, and it's crucial to do so to assert dominance across the globe.

Last week, Mr. Jensen Huang toured Europe’s major cities, like Paris, Berlin and London, while offering initiatives for projects and partnerships. He showcases the need for robust infrastructure in the region. Huang said on Wednesday in Paris,” We are going to invest billions here.... but Europe needs to move into AI quickly.”

To be an AI maker and not be solely an AI taker, the British Prime Minister announced USD 1.35 Billion in funding which is going to be used for scaling up computing power on a global level. Europe is far behind the U.S. and China as it majorly depends on Microsoft, Google, and Amazon and does not have any strong rivalry with tech giants like these instead of small AI companies like Mistral in Europe.

Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch, who has led NVIDIA for more than 30 years, at a ViaTech panel, made a partnership with Nvidia to construct a data center in Europe, aiming to provide power for the AI companies on the European continent. It will utilize 18,000 of the latest Nvidia chips in the first half of its plan while intending to expand to multiple sites in 2026.

In February, the European Union unveiled its plans to construct four AI gigafactories for USD 20 billion, which reduces dependency on U.S. companies. The European Commission hopes to build a robust AI infrastructure by discussing these plans with Nvidia's CEO.
