Orange EV, a pioneer in electric terminal trucks, has signed a strategic alliance with OptiGrid to introduce the Orange Juicer. A new battery-integrated DC fast charging product, to jump-start the process of transitioning to clean, electric power in fleets. This partnership focuses on combining the strengths of Orange EV, a manufacturer of heavy-duty electric vehicles, with the expertise of OptiGrid. Manufacturer of state-of-the-art stationary energy storage solutions to establish a charging platform with the capacity to provide megawatt-level power supply, reducing reliance on expensive grid infrastructure.

The system can charge multiple vehicles at a quick rate by combining DC fast charging with on-site battery storage. This minimizes operational bottlenecks, cuts off costly utility improvements, and makes electrification possible at the agreed schedule instead of having to wait until infrastructure is improved. The introduction of the Orange Juicer arrives at a pivotal moment in the transportation industry. Global governments are imposing stringent emission regulations, and large companies are developing a bold decarbonization goal.

Industrial facilities are going to be increasingly dependent on the concept of energy-storage-plus-charging as the Orange Juicer. This is a trend that helps not only to embrace the use of electric trucks but also enhances the resilience of the energy grid overall by balancing the demand and allowing the increased incorporation of renewables. Furthermore, this technology enables fleet operators to implement the use of electric vehicles today, rather than waiting several years for utility upgrades to keep pace.

Executive’s Statements:

Kurt Neutgens, Co-Founder and President of Orange EV:

“As more customers accelerate adoption of Orange EV trucks and electrify other site equipment, we’ve seen infrastructure upgrades cause serious holdups. The Orange Juicer solves that challenge, giving fleets a fast, scalable, and cost-effective charging platform that utilizes existing on-site power.”

Tyler Phillipi, CEO of OptiGrid:

“Fleet operators are tired of waiting on infrastructure that doesn’t match their electrification schedule. The Orange Juicer gives them the power to deploy today, with charging performance that rivals high-capacity systems but requires just a fraction of the grid input.”
