A global leader in photonic computing, Quantum Source, announced ORIGIN, its proprietary resource-state generator for next-generation, large-scale, fault-tolerant photonic quantum computers. It is expected to be delivered by the end of 2026. A program planned for 17th September 2025 at the Quantum World Congress in Washington will provide a great platform to reveal ORIGIN’s vision and concept for future products. This product with vision will be introduced in the presence of former Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, who is also a member of the company's board, along with the CEO and co-founder of Quantum Source, Oded Melamed.

ORIGIN is built with the help of cavity-QED photon-atom gate technology which allows the deterministic generation coupled with entangled photonic cluster states. It is a highly critical resource for large-scale photonic quantum computation. This innovation has built a new way to leverage the computational power of practical and fault-tolerant quantum computers that can even operate at room temperature without the need for a special environment that may collapse their wave function and disturb the expected output by quantum computers.

According the Oded Melamed, a CEO of Quantum Source said that “With ORIGIN, we are not just building a much more efficient processor — we are building the foundation for a practical quantum future, where governments, enterprises, and researchers can solve problems previously thought impossible.”

Current quantum systems are restricted by decoherence and noise, which leads to higher error rates and makes them hard to use for commercial applications with real-world scenarios. To overcome this drawback, large-scale and high-fidelity quantum states are required to generate fault-tolerant logical qubits.

Therefore, Quantum Source has presented a solution to this limitation by offering an efficient generation of entangled states, finding an alternative to the probabilistic methods used in other photonic platforms, coupled with deterministic photon-atom interaction using single atoms linked to optical cavities on a chip. This approach will offer no need for cryogenic cooling for room temperature operations, generate entangled photonic states with higher efficiency, a compact and scalable architecture for commercial use, which impacts a significant reduction in cost, complexity, and overall power consumption.

Former prime minister of Israel and quantum source board member said, “Quantum computing will redefine national security, science, and industry. Nations that master this technology will lead in defense, innovation, and economic growth. Quantum Source’s ORIGIN is the kind of innovation that can put countries, academic institutions, and companies at the forefront of the quantum era.”
