In September 2026, Virtual IT Group (VITG) introduced Modern Managed Services (MMS) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR), which are advanced security solutions that help companies keep their workflows secure and be future-ready. Modern Managed Services provide a Modern Defensible Architecture framework for managed IT workflows, facilitating cybersecurity, administrative configurations, and optimal procedures that are incorporated and maintained.

MDR and Zero Trust Detection Response (ZDR) can be placed in a vertical configuration or can even be used separately if a firm has its own IT service or team. This launch helps to secure the loopholes that are appearing due to the adoption of automation technologies in various sectors in New Zealand. This launch represents the second major portfolio expansion of the company in 2026. The first was the launch of the Zero Trust Consulting Practice and Zero Trust Detection and Response in the earlier phases of this year.

This is the first launch of VITG since it acquired Security Centric, which is a cybersecurity firm. The company is also working on the development of the Data and AI Practice and Momentum, which is a continuous improvement framework that is currently in the testing stage and intended to be officially launched in the later stages of this year.

Impact on the AI Industry

According to Precedence Research, the launch of Modern Managed Services (MMS) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) is expected to boost the AI industry. The rapid advancement in AI technologies and their swift adoption have resulted in extensive digitization of various sectors. Many of these sectors do not have elaborate cybersecurity facilities to secure their routine digital workflows. This launch offers them an option to adopt next-generation cybersecurity technologies and seamlessly incorporate automation in their official workflows.

Impact on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Market

The global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Market size was USD 757.58 billion in 2025, is calculated at USD 900.00 billion in 2026, and is expected to reach around USD 4,216.29 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 18.73% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the introduction of Modern Managed Services (MMS) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) is expected to benefit the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Market. Many companies are cautious about adopting AI as it requires them to upload sensitive data to cloud servers, and many of them do not have an in-house private cloud setup. This launch provides them with a cybersecurity service wherein they can secure their crucial workflows and data. This will boost the adoption of automation technologies since organizations need not worry about cyber threats that come with the use of AI.

Impact on the Cybersecurity Services Market

The global cybersecurity services market size is estimated at USD 177.27 billion in 2025 and predicted to increase from USD 188.66 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 328.32 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 6.36% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the launch of Modern Managed Services (MMS) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) is expected to expand the scope of the cybersecurity services market. The rapid adoption of digital technologies in various sectors that do not have dedicated cybersecurity teams has left them vulnerable to cyberattacks. This launch allows them to avail third-party services to manage the security segment of their workflows. This launch comes at the right time when the demand for cybersecurity services is rising.

Expert Opinion

Senior officials at VITG said that many companies buy managed services, and later they discover that it does not cater to their cybersecurity requirements. Conventional managed IT services would fall short according to today’s needs, and the Modern Defensible Architecture developed by the company is a significant upgrade as compared to its predecessors. It will help their clients use automation technologies to their full potential, create comprehensive platforms, and develop robust data systems.
