AlphaESS Introduces StaX-M29.9/M50 Modular Energy Storage System to Transform Power Management
AlphaESS has formally introduced StaX-M29.9/M50, the next-generation modular energy storage solution that is specifically designed to serve the interests of small commercial and industrial (C&I) customers that demand the flexibility, reliability, and simplicity in terms of energy management. The new StaX is built to meet the increasing demand of decentralized energy systems with power ratings of 29.9 kW and 50 kW, and can scale to a storage capacity of 216.9kWh.

The StaX-M29.9/M50 is unique because of its stackable design, which enables it to be plug-and-play, much less technical and time-consuming in installations. The system will not need big pre-assembled battery cabinets but will be made up of small battery modules of 12 kWh.
Such a design enables businesses to begin with a smaller setup and grow slowly as the energy requirements change. AlphaESS removes the need to use cranes, heavy civil works, or special foundations, reducing upfront investment and deployment barriers. This further enables advanced energy storage to be made available to more commercial users.
The modular scalability is the key to the flexibility of the system. The StaX-M29.9 has a range of configurations between 6 and 18 battery modules. On the other hand, StaX-M50 offers a range of between 9 and 18 modules with a maximum of 12 modules per column and two columns per system. This modularity enables firms to precisely match their operational profiles to the storage. The incremental capacity capability also cushions the customers against excessive investment at the start-up level. This ensures that the capital expenditure is in line with the actual increase in energy utilization.
The system is connected with AlphaCloud, which is a cloud-based energy management platform of AlphaESS. With AlphaCloud, users can have real-time access to solar production, battery power, energy usage, and predictive maintenance applications.
Technologically and safety-wise, StaX-M29.9/M50 is constructed on the lithium iron phosphate (LFP or LiFePO4) battery chemistry. This is commonly considered to be thermally stable and has a long cycle life, with a greater level of safety. Furthermore, the solution supports the confidence that AlphaESS has in its durability and performance, thus creating a strong market hold of company in the coming years.
