BeyondTrust has announced the private beta of the first module for its new Pathfinder platform, AI Agent Security. They are expanding enterprise security for the fastest-growing AI-powered software agents. The solution allows organizations to govern privileged access to autonomous AI systems deployed on enterprise endpoints. This also ensures how AI interacts with sensitive applications, enterprise infrastructure, and productive environments.

The module was created with the rise of AI assistants in software development. Enterprises continue to evolve and deploy AI tools at a quicker rate for enterprise operations and cloud management. The module was created in response to the growing deployment of AI assistants in software development, enterprise operations, and cloud management.

AI agents update their behavior in real time in response to user prompts, connected services, and contextual information, unlike conventional applications. The maturing capability has brought new security problems. That has forced organizations to have proactive governance rather than freely providing access to AI systems on enterprise data.

According to Precedence Research, the global endpoint security market size was estimated at USD 18.80 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 20.61 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 47.23 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 9.65% from 2026 to 2035. The market is driven by a growing number of ransomware attacks, adoption of cloud applications, and increased investment in AI-enabled endpoint security solutions.

Centralized Policy Controls Strengthen Enterprise AI Governance

AI Agent Security gives security personnel centralized visibility and control over enterprise and managed AI software running on endpoints. It offers a suite of popular enterprise AI applications, such as Claude Code, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, and OpenAI Codex. Uniform privileges for multiple AI tools make for easier management and help eliminate inconsistencies across enterprise systems.

Safeboxbd doesn't check activity post-execution but rather preemptive security constraints before an AI agent's privileged activities. Organizations may establish a list of approved AI services that cloud services are permitted to access. This preventative measure will minimize the potential for invalid use before problems grow into larger threats to the systems and the operation.

The platform also allows companies to detect unauthorized AI assistants. These are installed without proper security clearance. This emerging challenge is referred to as "Shadow AI" by BeyondTrust. Further referring to employees installing their own AI applications without going through corporate governance procedures. Security teams can now identify, block prohibited software, and implement software policies from a central point of management.

Least-Privilege Strategy Addresses Emerging AI Security Risks

BeyondTrust sees the release as a logical evolution of its proven ability to manage endpoint privileges. The module does not automatically pass on user logon credentials when user information is passed from one application to another. It passes only what is strictly necessary for each authorized operation. This means that businesses give AI systems just enough permissions for what it is allowed to do, limiting their exposure within the enterprise infrastructure.

This method represents an enterprise cybersecurity paradigm shift with the proliferation of enterprise-wide autonomous software agents. Prevention of software execution is usually the primary concern with traditional endpoint protection, or the blocking of malicious applications.

The firm states that getting access to AI software is no longer about greenlighting applications to install, but rather assessing every action. Furthermore, the Growing enterprise adoption of AI assistants continues reshaping cybersecurity priorities across industries, facilitating the company's vision in the coming years.
