On September 2, 2026, BTL created a special laser division and introduced EXOLASE ONE®, a new laser system that uses fused erbium technology. BTL says this method targets to solve some problems with traditional facial rejuvenation systems, like uneven results, long treatment times, and patient discomfort. This system associates several erbium wavelengths into one beam, allowing different types of laser energy to be applied simultaneously in the same area at the same time.

This launch shows the company's goal to strengthen its position in the fast-growing medical aesthetics field, especially in advanced skin rejuvenation. The new laser division adds another technology specialty to BTL's range for mental fitness, robotics, cardiology, and rehabilitation. The company plans to give early access to the system to selected clinical experts and will then make it available in 2027 on a global scale, focusing on aesthetic medicine and skin care.

Impact on the Medical Aesthetics Sector

The global medical aesthetics market size is calculated at USD 29.24 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 33.04 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 97.17 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 12.76% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the rising trend towards minimally invasive cosmetic procedures and growing disposable income. The action by BTL could lead to greater competition in the medical aesthetics sector by providing a laser system that combines a number of treatment functions into a single device. A system based on different wavelengths could appeal to clinics that would like to have precise treatment alternatives without having to buy several devices.

There is an increasing interest among clinics in technologies that give clear results, shorten the duration of the procedures, and make things easier for patients. Should doctors use it as expected, this technology could alter the way dermatology and aesthetic clinics select their equipment and may prompt competitors to speed up the expansion of similar multifunctional laser systems.

Impact on the Dermatology Sector

The global dermatology market is valued at USD 1.95 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 2.09 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 3.82 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 6.96% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the growing focus on simplifying dermatological treatment procedures and improving patient experience. The introduction of the EXOLASE ONE® could provide dermatologists seeking advanced equipment for facial rejuvenation and skin resurfacing with some new options. BTL's decision to enter the dermatology market means that clinical performance will be the main factor in the dermatology sector.

This strategy combines multiple erbium wavelengths into a single treatment beam, which helps doctors treat a variety of skin problems with one system instead of needing to switch between different machines. Additionally, final acceptance in a clinical infrastructure will depend on evidence of adequate safety, consistent results, and practical advantages when compared to existing laser technologies.

Impact on the Medical Device Sector

The global medical devices market was valued at USD 678.88 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 1,209.42 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 5.94% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the adoption of advanced medical technologies and advancements in diagnostic imaging are driving R&D practices. BTL has set up a new laser division, showing the way in which well-established manufacturers are expanding by means of specialised energy-based technologies. The commercial potential will depend on the acceptance by physicians, progress with regulatory approvals, the necessity for training and the ability to show clear advantages over existing equipment.

This development also shows the general trend in the industry towards using platforms that combine a number of functions in order to make procedures easier for both providers and patients. If the launch is a success, it could improve BTL's position in the medical devices market and lead to more competition among the companies making laser-based systems.

Expert Opinion

From the expert perspective, the launch of BTL’s EXOLASE ONE® is significant because the company is moving from another laser device to alter the way different laser wavelengths are delivered during facial rejuvenation. The idea has commercial appeal subsequently, clinics usually have to strike a balance between the quality of treatment and the length of the procedure, equipment budgets, and patient comfort. There could be practical benefits to combining erbium wavelengths into a single beam and lowering the necessity for separate treatment systems by ensuring predictable clinical results.

The planned expansion in 2027 will therefore be a main indication of how well the market accepts the device. But assertions of technological innovation must be backed up by independent clinical experience and wider real-world use. The rise in demand for efficient, sophisticated and minimally invasive treatment technologies. The expert observed that the decision to set up a dedicated laser division shows that BTL is committed to taking dermatology and aesthetic medicine and dermatology.
