Cooper Corporation, a leading Indian automotive company, was permitted to manufacture engines, gensets, and agricultural machinery, marking a significant step towards the country's clean-energy scenario. They teamed with Sinfonia Technology of Japan to announce the first CPCB IV+ compliant LPG genset (10 kVA) in the country. The landmark product has been marketed as Daimon Genset, the first green and sustainable solution for power generation. Being specially produced in the most modern plant of the Cooper Corporation in the state of Satara, Maharashtra. The Daimon Genset is poised to cater not only to the local market but also to the international market, including Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
The new Daimon Genset highlights how backup and distributed power are becoming increasingly important for the use of alternative fuels. This genset features a compact design and an indigenously developed, small-size V-Twin 2-cylinder lean-burn gas engine, developed in collaboration with Ricardo, UK. This technology is powered by leading-edge technologies, including an Electronic Engine Management System (EEMS) and Isochronous Governing, as well as a super-silent, high-performance acoustical enclosure. These qualities make it an ideal solution for applications in sectors such as microgrids, education, retail, healthcare, and rural infrastructure development.
The partnership has significant consequences in the environmental field and also has economic implications in the long run. With Cooper increasing its output at the plant in Satara, the project is expected to generate employment opportunities, foster local innovation, and drive exports. Furthermore, this collaboration can provide future direction for how other industries eventually transition to environment-friendly, efficient alternatives by incorporating clean fuel technology into the genset business.
Mr. Farrokh N. Cooper, Chairman & Managing Director of Cooper Corporation, stated, “This collaboration with Sinfonia Technology marks a purposeful step towards reshaping the energy landscape with cleaner, smarter solutions. The Daimon Genset embodies our conviction in the transformative power of collaboration, where Japanese precision and Indian engineering converge. We are proud to introduce a product that sets new standards in performance and sustainability for the Indian market and beyond.”
Mr. Makoto Saito, General Manager, Social Infrastructure System Sales Department, Sinfonia Technology, added, “Our collaboration with Cooper Corporation underscores our shared vision of delivering sustainable, high-efficiency power solutions. The Daimon Genset is not just a product — it’s a symbol of innovation, cultural synergy, and environmental responsibility. It sets a new benchmark in clean energy accessibility.”
