In May 2025, Royal Enfield announced its entry into the electric two-wheeler segment with plans to launch two new electric motorcycles, marking a significant step in the evolution of the e-bike drive unit market. The company’s first electric model, the Flying Flea C6, is scheduled for launch in early 2026, specifically between January and March, followed by the introduction of the S6 scrambler. The Flying Flea C6 was initially unveiled as a concept in February 2025 in the Indian market and has since been undergoing extensive testing, with multiple test units spotted on roads. Built on a forged aluminium frame, the C6 is expected to share its core platform and battery architecture with the upcoming S6 model, indicating a strategic approach toward platform standardization.

Ebike Drive Market Growth India Ev Launch

The Flying Flea C6 is anticipated to deliver performance comparable to a 300cc internal combustion engine motorcycle, with an expected riding range of approximately 100 to 150 kilometres on a single charge. The battery pack is uniquely positioned beneath the fuel tank area and features visible cooling fins to manage thermal efficiency. In terms of design, the motorcycle draws inspiration from the historic Flying Flea bikes used during World War II, showcasing a retro aesthetic with modern electric mobility elements. It features a round LED headlamp, circular indicators, girder front forks, and a slim tear-drop-shaped tank integrated into the frame. The bike also includes a clean side profile, a single-piece seat, and a braced rear fender with integrated lighting elements.

From a hardware perspective, the C6 rides on 19-inch alloy wheels at both ends, supported by a mono-shock rear suspension and a belt-drive system, enhancing ride smoothness and reducing maintenance. On the technology front, it is expected to come equipped with a 3.5-inch round touchscreen TFT display offering smartphone connectivity, navigation via Google Maps, call and SMS alerts, and ride analytics. Additional features include multiple charging modes: Trickle, Standard, and Rapid, along with a wireless smartphone charger. Safety and performance are further enhanced with cruise control, regenerative braking, traction control, dual-channel lean-sensitive ABS, and multiple riding modes such as Eco, Rain, Tour, Performance, and Custom.

Meanwhile, the S6 scrambler variant will cater to both on-road and off-road enthusiasts, featuring long-travel USD front forks, dual-purpose tyres, wire-spoke wheels, and a flat seat design. With these upcoming launches, Royal Enfield aims to strengthen its position in the growing electric mobility space while contributing to advancements in e-bike drive unit technologies.
