In September 2026, Indorama Ventures developed a modern PET bottle named LuxyClear EBM PET 5508 for Rebhan, intended to be used in beauty and personal care applications. It has been developed for extrusion blow molding with thick walls, along with transparent properties. It brings together a top-end appearance like glass and the lightweight, durable, and sturdy capabilities of PET.

This bottle is available to beauty and personal care companies in Europe, Asia, North America, and Latin America. Responsible aesthetics is gaining importance in the personal care sector due to the preferences of new generations. The demand for makeup products is significant among women in Japan and other Asian markets, particularly for dopamine-themed colors, as they are considered visually appealing.

Many other recent product launches intend to cater to the increasing demand for aesthetics and premium appeal, such as fragrance glass bottles by Bormioli Luigi, which come in 2 mini variants to stay compatible with fast-paced customer lifestyles. Aesop renovated its fragrance bottles to enhance aesthetics and stay compatible with the retail environment. Norner recently launched its liquid-soap bottle, which has been developed using regionally sourced recycled material that was the byproduct of high-density PE pipes used in the fish farming sector. Indorama noted that the personal care bottle has been developed using virgin PET substances and synthetically recycled raw material.

Impact on the Chemical Industry

According to Precedence Research, this development is expected to boost the use of recycled raw materials to develop aesthetic and premium-looking bottles. It intends to cater to the growing demand for ethically sourced ingredients without any compromise in performance. There have been various other such launches that use low-environmental-impact raw materials, which will make this segment of the market more fragmented and competitive. This might force manufacturers to sell at lower margins, which will bring the selling price down. The expansion of the responsible manufacturing ecosystem might attract more investors to expand infrastructure and drive further research and innovation.

Impact on the Sustainable Materials Market

The global sustainable materials market size was evaluated at USD 374.67 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 421.17 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 1,183.54 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 12.19% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, this launch is expected to boost the usage of materials that have minimal environmental impact, enabling brands to stay aligned with consumer preferences. Governments have strengthened regulations regarding carbon emissions, and many economies have a system called carbon trading. This system provides financial and policy benefits to companies that have low emissions. The expansion of research pipelines has enabled organizations to develop advanced technologies that facilitate the use of bio-based materials instead of conventional chemicals without any degradation in performance and reliability.

Impact on the Liquid Packaging Market

The global liquid packaging market size is calculated at USD 526.72 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 553.06 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 850.74 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 4.91% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, this introduction is expected to shift the beauty and wellness segment of the liquid packaging market from glass to PET. This product brings together the advantages of glass as well as conventional PET bottles, which makes it a lucrative option for customers. This might decrease the price consumers have to pay, as PET bottle logistics require comparatively lower costs because it is lighter and sturdier than glass bottles. Manufacturers would be able to offer price consistency in terms of time and geographic location as they diversify their portfolio of raw materials to include recycled substrates.

Expert Opinion

According to Dr. Patrick Amrhein, business director of Specialty Polymers at Indorama Ventures, beauty brands should not have to sacrifice one for the others between premium looks, packaging quality, and flexibility in terms of material usage. He also said that LuxyClear EBM PET 5508 benefits from design and production prowess in Rebhan to offer a standout packaging solution for brands.
