OpenAI Launches GPT-5 as Global AI Competition Heats Up

One of the popular Artificial Intelligence models, ChatGPT, launched its most awaited and highly anticipated version, ChatGPT -5, claiming to provide PhD-level intelligence. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, praised the launch of this model by saying it is a faster, smarter, and more useful model, ushering in the new era of ChatGPT.

He added further, “I think having something like GPT-5 would be pretty much unimaginable at any previous time in human history.”  

This model can offer answers to complex questions, such as coding and writing, and continues to compete with highly advanced AI models. OpenAI is also giving training on using ChatGPT-5 models to coders to use them as a proficient assistant. This trend is followed even by Anthropic, where Claude's code is expected to offer similar assistance in coding. 
However, Sam Altman admits that this new model may hallucinate and make up answers on its own. Recently, Grok, which is an AI model launched by Elon Musk, also claims to have intelligence at a PhD level.

What is different from the GPT-5 Model?

OpenAI further explained the abilities of GPT-5 that would generate software in its entirety and showcase better reasoning capabilities with working patterns, logic, and inference. As per the company’s claim, they have built this model to sound more like a human, which is honest and offers answers more precisely with minimal baffle, which shows the model will surely be better than its predecessors.

Altman added, “GPT-3 felt to me like talking to a high school student: ask a question, maybe you get the right answer, maybe you'll get something crazy. GPT-4 felt like you're talking to a college student; GPT-5 is the first time that it really feels like talking to a PhD-level expert in any topic."

AI content has become more convincing these days, so it's our responsibility to protect and appreciate what is built by people with creativity and promote it, according to some OpenAI executives. In a recent podcast, Altman referred to this model as a problem solver for many people, and he is thinking about the interaction between the AI model and humans, though there will still be a problem that needs to be fixed.
