OpenAI is about to take a huge next step in its expansion efforts, considering the plans are as ambitious as they are. Further AI development demands funding in the trillions, CEO Sam Altman has said. The speculated data centers will be the ones to support humongous workloads of AI, the acceleration of model training, and minimal latency to end-users. The compute facilities are not only about compute power but are strategic assets that allow OpenAI to have direct control over the infrastructure the products are built. OpenAI dominates its environment by implementing an all-inclusive approach to AI that shapes both the software and hardware landscape.
