In June 2026, Shell Shock Technologies, LLC (SST), a prominent innovator in the ammunition sector, recently announced the agreement on principal commercial terms for a strategic collaboration with CBC Global Ammunition, one of the world’s largest ammunition manufacturers. This partnership aims to focus on the industrialization and global commercialization of SST's proprietary NAS3™ hybrid case technology.

The collaboration entails the exploration of multiple military and commercial calibers, including 5.56x45, 7.62x51, .277 Fury (6.8), .338 Lapua, .50 BMG, and 9mm. Under the agreed partnership structure, CBC is anticipated to act as a licensed manufacturer and commercialization partner for these calibers, facilitating future industrial-scale production and market development initiatives on a global scale.

SST's NAS3™ Technology: Advancing the Small-Caliber Ammunition Sector

SST's NAS3™ technology integrates advanced metallurgy and proprietary manufacturing processes to develop lightweight, high-pressure-capable ammunition systems that are designed to enhance velocity, accuracy, range, durability, and overall ballistic performance in comparison to traditional brass-cased ammunition. Furthermore, this technology offers increased case capacity and a reduction in overall system weight, which could yield considerable advantages across both military and commercial applications, particularly with larger rifle and machine gun calibers.

Industry Impact and Market Outlook

As part of the strategic collaboration, CBC is expected to support efforts for industrialization and future manufacturing scalability initiatives, including integration into CBC's expanding U.S. manufacturing infrastructure. CBC has recently announced its plans for a major ammunition manufacturing facility in northeastern Oklahoma, which is anticipated to bolster future production capabilities and support military-focused development initiatives.

“This represents a significant milestone for Shell Shock Technologies and serves as a validation of the technology we have meticulously developed over the years,” stated Peter Foss, Managing Partner and CEO of Shell Shock Technologies. “CBC provides world-class manufacturing capabilities, a global reach, and extensive relationships within the military and commercial markets.”

The global small caliber ammunition market size is expected to be valued at USD 10.31 billion in 2025 and is expected to increase from USD 10.81 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 15.08 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 3.77% over the forecast period from 2026 to 2035. This growth is due to growing military & commercial sectors along with advanced ammunition technology.
