Introducing the 3-in-1 Combo Unit

Valeo intends to ramp up the production of the 3-in-1 Combo unit, which incorporates the three main components needed for electric vehicles: on-board chargers (OBCs), DC-DC converters, and power distribution units (PDUs). The production initiative is aimed at reducing import dependency and building the local EV supply chain. The facility was inaugurated by the senior-most brass, Xavier Dupont, CEO of the Power Division of Valeo and Group Executive Vice President, and Jayakumar G, Group President & Managing Director-Valeo India. Dupont reiterated Valeo's commitment to supporting India in its journey toward sustainable mobility and emphasized the teamwork between his global and Indian teams. G appreciated a well-trained team ready for production scale-up and thanked customers for their continued support.

A Boost to Local Manufacturing and Innovation

Valeo is focusing on ramping up its facility in Pune to boost local production and attract better market opportunities in electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and sales. It believes in the huge prospect of India as an EV manufacturing hub and possible markets. This will cater to demands in EV components employment opportunities and skill development within the region as part of the initiative to provide new production lines. The technology improvement of the installation will not only anticipate large volumes of production but also maintain a high level of quality and sustainability. Valeo investment, therefore, helps Indian automakers access world-class technology in EVs at a competitive price. The setting up of the Pune plant is in effect part of a wider strategy to localize production and thus support the Indian government's cleaner, greener ambitions in transportation.

Driving Toward a Sustainable Future

The electric vehicle scenario in India is now being revolutionized by government investment in making user adoption more and more environment-friendly. Valeo has been very pertinent in the electric vehicle ecosystem in India by providing the right kind of technology backbone. Its pursuit of innovation, quality, and sustainability underlies the expansion of its Pune facility to improve manufacturing capabilities, thus speeding up the transition to electric mobility. It also links itself well with the national agenda of self-reliant manufacturing and a global movement towards decarbonized transport systems. The electric vehicle is going to be the center of mobility in India, and Valeo is turning itself into a pioneer in molding the Indian environment.
