WiTricity AI Tech has unveiled the new MR/1 600 W wireless charging system, a new, cost-effective product in its range. This will further increase the availability of cable-free charging to golf carts and light electric vehicles. The new system retails at 1,625, about half the price of the higher-powered 900 W commercial wireless charger available to the company. This is especially appealing to smaller golf courses, gated communities, resorts, and fleet operators who are interested in a cost-effective electrification infrastructure. This innovation solidifies WiTricity to streamline EV charging with efficient wireless charging systems and decrease the complexity of operation that traditional plug-in systems have.

Wireless Charging System

The MR/1 600 W is based on WiTricity's established magnetic resonance technology, which enables the vehicles to charge when parked on a ground-mounted charging pad. This contactless method also does not require cables, connectors, or manual manipulation, and is much more convenient and safer for the operators and users. WiTricity is assisting in decreasing the price barrier that helps to make wireless charging technology available on a wider variety of applications faster.

The use of wireless charging has become a major focus of attention as one of the enablers of seamless electric mobility, especially in the controlled fleet settings in golf courses, campuses, airports, and industrial settings. Common plug-in charging processes tend to need human labor, periodic servicing, and vulnerability to environmental degradation.

Wireless charging helps to relieve mechanical overload and minimizes downtime, as well as enhancing the general user experience. The MR/1 600 W system tackles these operational issues and, at the same time, offers a more affordable entry point to organizations going electric with their fleets. Furthermore, with the increased product line, WiTricity is preparing itself to enable this changing environment and help in the future of automated and intelligent transportation.

Executive Statement

Joe Benz, CEO, WiTricity AI Tech:

“For courses and communities that want the benefits of wireless charging at a lower entry cost, the 600-watt system delivers an excellent balance of performance, simplicity, and value. Our goal is to make wireless charging accessible to a wider range of customers, enabling them to improve efficiency while reducing operational complexity.”
