Autoware Foundation Collaborates with Renesas to Quicken Manufacturing- Ready End-to-End AI for ADAS and Autonomous Driving

On September 1, 2026, Autoware Foundation and Renesas Electronics have started a partnership to make it easier to bring advanced AI technology from development into real cars. Renesas has joined the Autoware Foundation at its highest membership level, involving Autoware’s open-source self-driving software more closely with Renesas R-Car SoC platform automotive computing systems. The partnership is expected to support uses from Level 2 driver through ADAS systems help and Level 2++ hands-free driving and future Level 4 self-driving, known as Robotaxis.
