In August 2026, LK Metrology widened its dimensional inspection equipment offerings by introducing a range of laser scanners. These laser scanners use advanced Ethernet communication technologies. These technologies enhance the efficiency of data-heavy metrology operations on coordinate measuring machine (CMM) laser scanners. It helps to improve digital production and metrology in the manufacturing industry.

The company is of the opinion that Ethernet connectivity is a significant milestone towards enhancing the synchronization of modern quality control operations. It also facilitates the adoption of advanced technology for next-generation sensors. The non-contact sensors used in these scanners have been designed to facilitate automatic dimensional inspection and 3D surface digitization.

These non-contact sensors allow manufacturers to inspect sophisticated freeform surfaces, features, and delicate components with much more efficiency and at a faster pace than with conventional touch-probe measurement technologies. The newly launched offerings of laser scanners are compatible with Ethernet technologies and include LC15DX, L100NX, and SLK25 line scanners and XC65DX and XC65DXLS cross scanners, which have been developed by LK Metrology.

The company has used serial digital interference (SDI) technology to facilitate smooth deployment. This enables customers to perform precise measurements and also reap the benefits of advanced data transfer technologies. LK Metrology also unveiled a smart sensor interface controller, which comes in standard 19-inch rack-mount as well as desktop architecture.

The Focus point cloud inspection software provided by the company smooths the operations of part-to-CAD inspection as it automates the process of comparison of scanned point cloud data with nominal CAD geometry. It uses colored maps and graphical reports to visualize deviations.

Laser Scanners

Impact on the Information Communication Technology Industry
