RadiansPlus Technologies, an international developer of sustainable grid management technology, has announced its pioneering Power System Neutral - Dynamic Load Management (PSN-DLM) platform. A new generation of technology that changes the relationship between electric vehicle (EV) charging and distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems, and the existing electrical infrastructures. This introduction marks a breakthrough in how cities can become decarbonized quickly, without the need for expensive grid upgrades or large-capacity hardware additions.
Energy systems are under greater strain than ever as governments and corporations worldwide strive to achieve net-zero carbon objectives. EVs and distributed renewable energy, essential to a greener future, have strained traditional grid capacity immensely. Adding substations, installing extensive battery systems, or strengthening distribution systems can be very expensive, costing millions of dollars, and may require years to achieve. To overcome this global bottleneck, RadiansPlus has developed PSN-DLM, which is a software-defined, scalable solution that leverages existing infrastructure as much as possible. The technology smartly controls grid interactions between energy supply and demand, dynamically allocating resources to avoid overloading and ensuring equitable access to power for everyone at all times.
PSN-DLM, a product based on the patented Power System Neutral (PSN) architecture of RadiansPlus, operates by decoupling instantaneous power demand and total energy consumption. The computerised system constantly checks grid capacity, solar generation, and charging loads, and automatically controls load allocation among EV chargers and solar arrays. Rather than compelling utilities to invest in physical growth, PSN-DLM coordinates energy consumption in the virtual realm, utilizing sophisticated analytics and control algorithms to maintain system balance. The innovation can save money and reduce embodied carbon in traditional infrastructure projects, helping cities achieve their sustainability goals more effectively. Moreover, the next version of the platform is already being designed to work with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) to create a fully connected and intelligent grid of the future.
Geoffrey Chan, Co-Founder & Technical Director, RadiansPlus Technologies:
“PSN-DLM delivers the ‘friendly handshake’ the energy transition desperately needs between EVs, solar panels, and the grid. By harnessing flexibility on both the demand and supply sides, we unlock the full potential of existing infrastructure, making decarbonization faster, fairer, and more affordable.”
