Alloy Therapeutics and Institute for Protein Innovation Announce Strategic Collaboration to Advance Next-Generation Antibody Discovery
Alloy Therapeutics is a biotech ecosystem partner that partnered with the not-for-profit in vitro discovery & protein engineering organisation, Institute for Protein Innovation (IPI) to develop new technologies for antibody discovery. The partnership will work towards advancing the discovery of new therapeutics, increasing the "developability" of therapeutics, and providing biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies with access to sophisticated antibody technologies.

Advancing Antibody Discovery Through Protein Engineering
The drug discovery ecosystem of Alloy Therapeutics is complemented by IPI's expertise to exploit in Vitro, synthetically generated humanised VHH libraries with increased stability and decreased immunogenicity, and designed for therapeutic performance. These modular libraries are designed to be comparable to the established antibody libraries, allowing for use within complex therapeutic formats, especially in neuroscience, where it has proven challenging for efficient antibody format approaches.
Errik Anderson, CEO and Founder of Alloy Therapeutics, stated, “By integrating IPI’s cutting-edge in vitro discovery and protein engineering capabilities with Alloy’s in vivo capabilities, we are expanding what’s possible in antibody design, especially for multispecific formats, while maintaining the speed and scalability that today’s drug developers demand.”
According to Precedence Research, the immunohematology market size was calculated at 2.86 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 2.98 billion in 2026 toâ¯approximately USDâ¯4.21 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 3.94% from 2026 to 2035 due to a rise in demand for advanced biologics, precision therapeutics, and innovative antibody–based treatment solutions.
Industry Impact and Outlook
The partnership is expected to accelerate and speed up the discovery of new antibodies; biotechs and pharma companies will be able to outsource hit discovery to the partner, shorten the drug development timeline, and improve the chances of a successful drug discovery. To emphasise the increasing importance of using the technologies of nanobodies and multispecific therapeutics in future drug development, Alloy Therapeutics enters into a strategic alliance with IPI.
