The Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) is a non-profit organization founded by medical professionals that has the objective of enhancing the adoption of AI in healthcare. In July 2026, CHAI introduced a national initiative to aid public health facilities in testing, adopting, and scaling generative AI. This initiative is called the Public Health Use Case and Learning Scaling Engine (PULSE).

The top-level management of CHAI will select the medical facilities that will take part in this initiative and assign test cases to individuals according to their preferences. They will take help from the Accenture professionals to develop guidance reports for 5 test cases that will help the medical facilities in other locations to adopt best healthcare practices.

The 5 test cases that are going to be included in this initiative are:

  • Social Determinants of Health (SDoH): SDoH Mapping
  • Operations and Efficiency: Community Feedback Analysis
  • Public Communications: Multilingual Translation Hub
  • Biosurveillance: Drug Wave Prediction
  • Automated Clinical Data Retrieval: FHIR Query Engine

According to CHAI CEO Brian Anderson, the PULSE initiative is intended to help public health facilities receive assurance, experience, and a structured roadmap on proper integration of AI in healthcare workflows. He said that the coalition is delighted to be able to provide the medical sector with a structured way to gain knowledge about real-world usage of automation technologies.

OpenAI and Anthropic have also stepped in to contribute, as they have offered 10 enterprise licenses for free, which would enable as many as 2000 medical professionals to avail AI agent services. According to Felipe Milon, the head of government go-to-market at OpenAI, they are happy to step in and provide free enterprise licenses, which will help public healthcare personnel learn about the implementation of AI in the medical sector, and he hopes that this early-stage testing initiative transforms into widespread adoption.

Impact on the Healthcare Industry

According to Precedence Research, the PULSE initiative is expected to positively impact the Healthcare industry as the early-stage testing introduces automation technologies to medical professionals. This will help them understand the benefits AI provides in routine healthcare workflows and encourage its adoption in various public medical facilities.

Such initiatives also provide impetus to various AI model development companies to actively invest in research and development projects to build models specifically for the healthcare sector. This is because government contracts to supply AI models and the required electronics equipment can be very financially rewarding for the AI companies.

Impact on the Healthcare Cloud Computing Market

The global healthcare cloud computing market size is valued at USD 63.9 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 75.17 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 312.97 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 17.22% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the healthcare cloud computing market is expected to benefit from the launch of the PULSE initiative, as the adoption of automation technologies in the public healthcare sector will massively increase the amount of data generated by medical facilities. They will need cloud facilities to store their data, as most healthcare facilities do not have on-premise data storage and processing facilities. They will also need significant computing power, which is provided by a cloud computing framework. The usage of cloud infrastructure will also allow the healthcare sector to easily scale their operations and stay up-to-date with the latest digital technologies.

Impact on the Healthcare Cybersecurity Market

The global healthcare cybersecurity market size is valued at USD 31.90 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 37.32 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 142.45 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 16.12% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the introduction of the PULSE initiative is expected to positively impact the healthcare cybersecurity market due to the fact that the adoption of AI would require the healthcare industry to extensively digitize its workflow. This will create vulnerable endpoints that would be at risk of cyberattacks and can lead to loss of private patient health data. There are strict regulations that medical facilities have to follow regarding protecting the privacy of patient health data. This will lead to the use of cybersecurity solutions to make the digital systems secure and ensure smooth and reliable operations in the long run.
