Keysight Accelerates the Future of EV Charging with Advanced Megawatt-Level Test Solutions
Keysight Technologies, Inc. has announced the launch of two new electric vehicle (EV) charging test solutions. These are powerful to aid the industry in the fast transition toward high-power and megawatt-level charging. With the accelerating pace of global electrification and the further sophistication of electric vehicle charging infrastructures, the newest products and solutions offered by Keysight are designed to enable manufacturers and engineers to accelerate innovation and ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with the constantly evolving international standards. These solutions reach a critical point, where the industry is no longer seeking the traditional fast-charging model, but ultra-high-power charging demanded by heavy-duty vehicles and long-haul transportation, and industrial fleets.

EV adoption in passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and logistics fleets has put the charging infrastructure on levels never seen before. The engineers are now faced with the challenge of operating under greater voltages, currents, safety standards, and increasing interoperability issues across borders. Standards, including Megawatt Charging System (MCS), Combined Charging System (CCS), ISO 15118, GB/T, and CHAdeMO, keep on evolving. Thus, it becomes more complicated to develop and validate. Devoid of sophisticated and scalable testing facilities, manufacturers will find themselves having to undertake lengthy development times and systems of charging that might not work reliably under real-world environments.
These solutions create a complete ecosystem of testing that will minimize the risk of development and guarantee long-term stability of EV charging systems. Governments and industries around the globe are demanding to decarbonize. Thus, these strong testing capabilities are becoming the key to creating a resilient and future-proof charging network that is able to support next-generation electric mobility. Furthermore, the introduction of Keysight also shows how test and measurement solutions are increasingly becoming central in the value chain of EVs worldwide.
